A Copper Nickel Concentric Reducer is designed with both ends aligned on a common centerline, creating a smooth and balanced transition between different pipe diameters. This configuration helps maintain consistent flow characteristics throughout the piping system.
Concentric reducers are widely used in vertical piping installations, seawater cooling systems, offshore process lines, and marine engineering applications where maintaining symmetrical flow is important. The gradual reduction in pipe size helps minimize flow disturbance and supports stable operating conditions.
Typical Applications: Vertical pipelines, seawater circulation systems, fire protection networks, desalination plants, and process piping requiring uniform flow distribution.
Key Advantages: Smooth flow transition, reduced pressure loss, lower turbulence levels, and improved hydraulic efficiency across the pipe size change.
A Copper Nickel Eccentric Reducer features offset centerlines between the larger and smaller pipe ends. This design is commonly selected for horizontal piping systems where maintaining a level pipe invert or top line is critical.
By eliminating high or low points within the pipeline, eccentric reducers help prevent the formation of air pockets, vapor accumulation, or liquid stagnation. This makes them particularly suitable for pump suction lines, ballast water systems, and drainage applications found in marine and offshore environments.
Typical Applications: Horizontal pipelines, pump suction systems, ballast water lines, cooling water networks, and drainage systems.
Key Advantages: Reduces the risk of cavitation, prevents trapped air or fluid buildup, improves system reliability, and supports efficient fluid transport in horizontal installations.
Our Copper Nickel Reducers are manufactured in accordance with internationally recognized marine and industrial piping standards, including DIN 86089, EEMUA 146, EEMUA 234, and ASME B16.9. These standards ensure dimensional accuracy, pressure integrity, and full compatibility with copper nickel piping systems used in shipbuilding, offshore platforms, seawater cooling networks, desalination plants, and naval engineering projects.
We offer both Concentric Reducers and Eccentric Reducers in CuNi 90/10 (C70600) and CuNi 70/30 (C71500) grades to meet various flow and installation requirements.
DIN 86089 reducers are widely used in marine piping systems and shipbuilding applications, providing reliable dimensional consistency and excellent seawater corrosion resistance.
Manufactured to EEMUA 146 requirements, these reducers are commonly specified for offshore installations, seawater services, ballast water systems, and fire-fighting pipelines.
EEMUA 234 copper nickel reducers are designed for demanding marine and offshore environments where long service life, low maintenance, and superior resistance to biofouling are essential.
ASME B16.9 reducers are suitable for industrial piping systems requiring standardized butt weld fittings and seamless integration with international pressure piping specifications.
All Copper Nickel Reducers can be supplied in seamless or welded construction, with customized dimensions, wall thicknesses, pressure ratings, and inspection documentation available upon request.
Copper nickel reducers are commonly manufactured in two marine-grade alloys: CuNi 90/10 (C70600) and CuNi 70/30 (C71500). Both materials offer excellent resistance to seawater corrosion and marine biofouling, but they are designed for different service conditions.

CuNi 90/10 is the most widely used copper nickel alloy for marine piping systems. It combines excellent seawater corrosion resistance, good weldability and cost-effective performance, making it suitable for shipbuilding, seawater cooling systems and general offshore applications.
With a higher nickel content, CuNi 70/30 provides greater mechanical strength and improved resistance to erosion-corrosion in high-velocity seawater. It is commonly selected for demanding offshore, naval and industrial marine environments where extended service life is required.

Copper nickel reducers are widely used in seawater and marine piping systems due to their outstanding resistance to corrosion, erosion, and biological fouling. Compared with conventional steel fittings, CuNi reducers provide longer service life, reduced maintenance requirements, and improved reliability in demanding offshore and coastal environments.
Copper nickel alloys naturally develop a protective oxide layer when exposed to seawater, providing excellent resistance to general corrosion, pitting, and crevice corrosion. This makes them ideal for long-term operation in marine environments.
In high-velocity seawater systems, copper nickel reducers maintain structural integrity and resist erosion-corrosion damage caused by turbulent flow, suspended solids, and impingement effects.
Copper nickel materials possess inherent anti-fouling properties that help inhibit the attachment of marine organisms, algae, and barnacles, reducing cleaning frequency and maintaining system efficiency.
The combination of corrosion resistance and mechanical durability significantly extends operational life, minimizing downtime, replacement frequency, and lifecycle costs for marine piping installations.
Copper nickel reducers can be readily welded to CuNi piping systems, ensuring reliable joints and facilitating efficient fabrication of prefabricated pipe spools for shipbuilding and offshore projects.
Copper nickel reducers are extensively used in shipbuilding, offshore platforms, FPSOs, desalination plants, seawater cooling systems, and coastal power stations where reliability and corrosion resistance are essential.
Copper nickel reducers are widely used in piping systems where excellent seawater corrosion resistance, long service life, and reliable flow transition are required. They are particularly suitable for marine and industrial environments exposed to saltwater, high humidity, and demanding operating conditions.
Available in both concentric and eccentric configurations, copper nickel reducers provide smooth flow transitions while maintaining the corrosion-resistant performance required in marine, offshore, and industrial piping systems.
All copper nickel reducers are inspected throughout production to ensure compliance with marine, offshore, and industrial piping requirements. Inspection records and material documentation are available for complete project traceability.
To ensure an accurate quotation and efficient production scheduling, please provide the technical specifications, material grade, dimensional requirements, and inspection standards for your copper nickel reducer. Complete project information helps our engineering team recommend the most suitable solution for marine, offshore, shipbuilding, and seawater piping applications.

A copper nickel reducer is used to connect copper nickel pipes of different diameters while maintaining efficient fluid flow. It is widely installed in seawater cooling systems, ballast water pipelines, offshore platforms, shipbuilding projects, desalination plants, and other marine piping applications where corrosion resistance is critical.
A concentric reducer has both pipe ends aligned on the same centerline, making it suitable for vertical piping systems and applications requiring symmetrical flow. An eccentric reducer features an offset centerline and is commonly used in horizontal pipelines and pump suction lines to prevent air accumulation and flow disruption.
CuNi 90/10 (C70600) is the most widely used and cost-effective choice for general marine seawater systems. CuNi 70/30 (C71500) contains a higher nickel content, providing greater mechanical strength and enhanced resistance to high-velocity seawater, erosion-corrosion, and demanding offshore environments.
Yes. We manufacture and supply ASME B16.9 copper nickel reducers in both concentric and eccentric designs. Available sizes typically range from 1/2″ to 24″ with wall thicknesses including Sch 5S, Sch 10S, Sch 40S, and Sch 80S, depending on project requirements.
Yes. We supply copper nickel reducers manufactured in accordance with DIN 86089, EEMUA 146, and EEMUA 234 standards. Standard sizes are available from DN15 to DN500 with pressure ratings such as 10 bar, 14 bar, 16 bar, and 20 bar for marine and offshore piping systems.
Yes. Custom dimensions, wall thicknesses, material grades, pressure ratings, and inspection requirements can be supplied according to project specifications. Reducers can also be manufactured to customer drawings and international standards.
Depending on project requirements, reducers can be supplied with EN 10204 3.1 Material Test Certificates (MTC), dimensional inspection reports, PMI reports, hydrostatic test reports, and third-party inspection documentation from agencies such as SGS, BV, DNV, ABS, or LR.
